Doublebase Dayleve Gel

Doublebase Dayleve Gel is a long-lasting highly emollient and protective hydrating base. It may also be used as an adjunct to other topical treatments. The oily ingredients, isopropl myristate and liquid paraffin, encourage rehydration and softening of dry skin by forming an occlusive barrier within the skin surface, thus reducing drying as a result of the evaporation of water diffusing from the underlying layers. Can be used as little as twice a day, morning and night

Doublebase Emollient Bath Additive

Doublebase Emollient Bath Additive contains 65% liquid paraffin, which has moisturising and skin-softening properties, and is specially formulated to disperse in bath water

Doublebase Emollient Shower Gel and Doublebase Emollient Wash Gel

Doublebase Emollient Shower Gel and Doublebase Emollient Wash Gel are designed to deliver emollient ingredients into the stratum corneum when gently applied to areas of dry skin. They are relatively non-greasy, despite their high oil content. The oily ingredients, isopropyl myristate and liquid paraffin, encourage rehydration and softening of dry skin by forming an occlusive barrier within the skin surface, which reduces drying resulting from evaporation of water diffusing from the underlying layers. Both products are suitable for use as a soap substitute owing to the presence of a non-ionic emulsifier (cetomacrogol)

Dovobet Gel

Dovobet Gel

Contains calcipotriol and betamethasone. Calcipotriol helps to bring the rate of skin cell growth back to normal and betamethasone acts to reduce inflammation.

Dovobet Ointment

Calcipotriol is a vitamin D derivative. In vitro data suggest that it induces differentiation and suppresses proliferation of keratinocytes. This is the proposed basis for its effect in psoriasis

Drapolene

Drapolene contains benzalkonium chloride and cetrimide, which are both quaternary ammonium disinfectants with properties that are typical of cationic surfactants. This preparation is useful in the treatment and prevention of nappy rash. It suppresses the development of ammonia-producing organisms usually associated with this condition

Driclor

Driclor acts locally, in the stratum corneum and the terminal duct to relieve hyperhidrosis. Aluminium chloride hexahydrate is acidic and is thought to act by diffusing into the sweat ducts where on neutralisation it forms gelatinous hydroxides which obstruct the flow of sweat. The antiperspirant effect of aluminium chloride hexahydrate is partly explained by production of mechanical blockage in the eccrine sweat duct. Following application, aluminium is found in the stratum corneum and intra-luminally in the terminal duct
