Ivermectin is a member of the avermectin class. Avermectin has anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting lipopolysaccharide-induced production of inflammatory cytokines. Anti-inflammatory properties of cutaneous ivermectin have been observed in animal models of skin inflammation.
